DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Curiosity drives many a creator. When I began writing The Watchmaker's Eyes, it seemed that it had been germinating for decades. TIME's many dimensions filled my brain and rumoured of mysteries that might be.

It's difficult to place The Watchmaker's Eyes in a single genre; it has drama, elements of terror, a large dollop of science fiction and it travels in time.

The film will use special effects sparingly, but the camera will be very lively. It is a compendium of atmospheres, where shots can move independently of the characters, disclosing something beyond their actions, but remaining part of a unified whole.

It is a movie where the audio and the visual venture across their sensory boundaries and dance together in a syn-aesthetic choreography; a movie where there's no empty space.

I hope I have fit together all the pieces of the script with a watchmaker's precision so that it might convey my concept of eternity. But this only the start. The author's 'voice' must submerge itself into the characters and become incarnate through the actors. It can catalyse their emotions, yet still provide room for the Monster to be more than Frankenstein imagined.
